1 Month Recap
So I haven’t been great with writing on here, but the long and short of the past month is that I’ve been weighing myself at every opportunity and I had averaged about 2lbs/week — some of the weight came off slower while some of it was loss in larger chunks (probably water weight). There were several days where I gained weight back, but over I’m down about 6-8 lbs — roughly 227lbs.
I haven’t been consistent with tracking quantity of food eaten, but I think my macronutrient balance has been pretty good (more protein and less processed carbohydrates). My workouts have been relatively consistent, also dialing back intensity as needed. I think I had a couple of sick days and a couple of days where my body didn’t feel good (e.g., joints really hurt, etc.) as well as the normal culprits of just not sleeping well.
All in all, I feel pretty good and I can definitely feel the weight that was loss. I would consider this first month a success. I will say that the protein bars have been a good alternative to all the other crap I would have eaten.**
I want to record a few of my workouts for Kai when he grows older — I can’t workout with him now, but maybe if I record some of my sessions it might be interesting for him to watch and compare to/with if he ends up getting into fitness.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to get under 220 lbs by the end of the month — having lost the weight that I did, I might try to have a bit of a stabilizing period, especially as I think I will be building some muscle. I need to get better with taking progress pictures weekly.
