“WHY?”

The past couple of years has been especially challenging. With those challenges, I have put on a considerable amount of weight and also had some health challenges.

I got to the point where my physical health and fitness (or lack thereof) began to impact my mental/spiritual fitness and I was quickly spiraling down to a place I didn’t want to be.

I knew I needed to change — and it wasn’t that I “didn’t know how to” change, but I didn’t have the consistency nor the fortitude to do what I know I needed to do.

This project is largely a self-accountability tool — but as I know that it will be a long and challenging (and worthwhile!) journey — I wanted to document it — my daily affirmations on why I’m on it, but also reflect, share, and hopefully motivate others.

Our societal values have changed — yet some also haven’t — only how we prioritize them. But let’s boil it down … if you had to choose between two values … “money” and “health” … which would you choose? Of course, it depends on which deficit is making more of an impact on your life, but from what I have learned, the sages of past and present will always lean towards “health”.

So let’s get to it.
